I agree, I think that the rake on the front forks would affect the bike at slow speeds. Interesting reading the comments re braking on this posting. When I originally learnt to ride a motorbike some 26 years ago we we taught to use the back brake more than the front. When I recommenced riding again 2.5 years ago I had to retrain myself to use the front brake first supported by the back. I attended a saftey course and by the end of the session after we had done everything except ride our bikes sitting backwards we did a session on braking which consisted of putting our bikes up to 40kms then throwing out all anchors to stop in a distance of only a few meters. If we hadn't used up all the travel on our front forks we hadn't braked hard enough so were sent of for a re-run. That exercise was done on my previous bike but it was a very good exercise to have done . I knew exactly how my bike would behave should I ever need to brake that hard. Since I've had my Savage I've been waiting for the change to try it out in such a test situation however, i've tried it out in real life situation when a car started to pull out in front of me - actually on a corner where a motorcyclist had been killed two weeks before. Pleased to say the Savage stopped beautifully. Sometime later my hubby commented that I must have done some pretty hard braking recently judging by the marks on the forks!
